WHAT TO EXPECT FOR YOUR INITIAL BANKRUPTCY CONSULTATION

Your current financial situation didn’t materialize overnight. It’s the result of a number of factors, going back several months, if not years. Analyzing your finances will take time, and we understand that you might feel uncomfortable showing others your financial condition. The team at Fred Wehrwein, P.C. understands your anxiety. We’re experts, dedicated to helping you get back on your feet financially. In order give you the best guidance for your financial situation, it’s important that we have a complete list of your debts.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR CONSULTATION

Good preparation is crucial for us to have a complete understanding of your financial situation. We know that you may not be comfortable showing us your financial condition. We understand how overwhelming it can feel, but bankruptcy can be your first step towards financial freedom. We are on your side and want to help you get back on track with your finances. We’re here to help. But in order to be able to help, we need to have this information. At this moment, if you really want us to help you out, you need to sit down and make a complete list of your debts. Without completely knowing your actual financial condition, we won’t be able to help you as much as you need.

Be prepared for the possibility of filing for a Chapter 7, Chapter 11, Chapter 12, or a Chapter 13 bankruptcy.

WHAT TO INCLUDE ON YOUR DEBT LIST

Your complete list of debts should include:

  • List the name of every person or company to whom you owe money, including those you want to continue paying.
  • Get the address of each person or company listed above. This is the most important item, as we’ll provide the creditor list to the Court, and notice must reach each entity listed so the debt can be dealt with.
  • List the amount of each debt.
